Mrs. Kiger’s Algebra-Geometry students visited the Roodhouse Bowling Alley Tuesday after learning how to score a game of bowling. 

 

Mrs. Schroeder and 26 FBLA members traveled to St. Louis on Wednesday to see an afternoon Cardinals game.  Mrs. Gwillim and 30 Spanish Club members had lunch at Los Tres Amigos on Wednesday.  Mr. Kesinger and 13 Art Club students visited the Strawn Art Gallery in Jacksonville yesterday.  This wraps up field trips for the school year.

 

The Greene County Track Meet was rescheduled for last night after being canceled on Monday.  CHS was not originally planning to participate but did and also hosted the event.

 

The seniors had a challenging day weather wise for their senior picnic, but made the best it while staying on campus.

 

Junior class sponsors Mrs. Schroeder and Mr. Garber spent Friday with 30 juniors and several parents preparing the KC Hall for the 2008 Jr/Sr Prom.

 

Sophomores and seniors will participate in the Illinois Youth Survey on Monday morning.  This survey will provide data for prevention and intervention plans for the youth of our state.

 

Student council week is May 5th-9th.  Classes will meet on the 2:05 bell schedule with an activity planned for Monday through Thursday.  The regular bell schedule will be followed on Friday morning with the DARE cookout at noon.  There will be games and activities Friday afternoon.  Closed campus lunch will be followed on Friday. 

 

Baseball Results:  Varsity defeated Metro E. Lutheran, P. Hill, Virginia (2x), Greenfield and fell to Williamsville

Boy’s Track Results:  Defeated Hillsboro & P. Hill; Greene County Meet – 1st place (4 in a row for seniors)

Girl’s Track Results:  Greene County Meet – 2nd place 

Softball Results:  Varsity fell to Virginia & Greenfield
