5th Grade Rules

Every student has the right to learn and the opportunity to succeed in a safe, structured environment. It is the teachers responsibility to establish rules that are fair, consistent, and beneficial to the students and the teacher. Students are responsible for following both classroom and school rules and policies. When everyone does his or her duty, learning and instruction can effectively take place.

CLASS RULES

Keep hands, feet, and disruptive comments to yourself

Raise your hand to speak or leave your seat:  listen to and follow directions

Sit up, feet in front on the floor

Be considerate of others: adults and students

No cheating. Anyone caught cheating will receive a zero

Use passes wisely. You only receive 3 each week

Follow all school rules

CONSEQUENCES

Name on board = warning

Name plus a check mark = written work assigned by teacher

Name plus two check marks = essay on behavior and/or apology letter

Name plus three check marks = sent to the principal

Name plus four check marks = student calls parents

It is important that every student understands and follows classroom rules and procedures. This helps create a positive, motivating environment for both the teacher and students.
